PEEK INSIDE
When the Austen ladies were stitching their patchwork at Chawton, there were no sewing machines. English Paper Piecing (EPP) was a favorite choice, but Inklingo’s precise lines for stitching and cutting—perfectly printed on the fabric by the hundreds—make it easier than they could have imagined in the early 1800s.

With Inklingo, this patchwork can be stitched by EPP, with a running stitch by hand, by machine, or by a combination of hand and machine stitching (Inklingo hybrid).
Complete your Jane Austen book collection with Quilted Diamonds and Quilted Diamonds 2. These are traditional pattern books (pre-Inklingo), which include hundreds of diamond-shaped blocks and classic instructions for hand piecing and appliqué. Even better, the text and the patterns are described with quotations from the six novels. (The top menu bar links to Jane Austen photo galleries too.)
"It was a plan to promote the happiness of all." (Emma)

INKLINGO is different from Quilted Diamonds. Inklingo is a digital tool to print the cutting and stitching lines on the back of the fabric. The diamonds in the Jane Austen coverlet have unusual angles which are not commonly used in quilts, but they are ready to print perfectly from this Inklingo collection, with no measuring. It is precise, simple, and fast.
Two new books complement this shape collection for the Jane Austen Patchwork.

THE INKLINGO HANDBOOK Chapter 1 of the handbook is essential information about printing, cutting and stitching with Inklingo. It is included in the FREE collection.
Chapter 1 is also available separately as a download (3 MB) from the link at the bottom of this page.
Jane Austen Patchwork Mystery This pretty companion book is for quilters who want to know more about Jane Austen and her novels, or who want to make the coverlet with traditional (pre-Inklingo) methods. Available now.
Experienced quilter? You will find this quilt easy to cut and sew, despite the unusual angles and measurements of the diamonds, thanks to Inklingo’s precise lines for stitching and cutting, which you can print on the wrong side of cotton quilting fabric.
New to Inklingo? GETTING STARTED

New to quilting? The small diamonds in the border are challenging, but the center of the quilt is within the reach of a beginner with basic sewing skills. If you are a complete novice, the instructions for hand and machine piecing in The Inklingo Handbook will get you started. Thanks to Inklingo, you can use scissors if you don’t have a rotary cutter and mat (yet).
