BONNIE’S VERY VERSATILE SHAPES
I want to show you how versatile the Celtic Solstice shapes are! It is a great shape collection.
Even if you are not making Bonnie’s design (for some crazy reason) I still think you will love these shapes.

There are so many ways to use these triangles!
The parallelograms are my favorites!
Four Winds (Beyer 146-7)
This is a lovely 9-inch block with the shapes in Celtic Solstice.
The Ribbon Quilt is a stunning design to showcase special fabrics.
Can you imagine this with all of the squares fussy cut (fussy printed)? (We LOVE fussy cutting with Inklingo! See the Top Ten Tutes and Inklingo videos on YouTube!)

There are many quilt blocks that use parallelograms.
Do you have Jinny Beyer’s Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns? This book belongs in your sewing room! It is a great source of inspiration for me.

The shapes in Celtic Solstice are easy to work with in Electric Quilt too. Many of them are already in the Block Library. All of these blocks are Easy Draw. Set up your grid for 1.5-inch units to make 3, 6, 9, or 12-inch blocks.

Thank you Linda for these great ideas. I find it’s always easier to think of the ‘usual’ blocks with some of the half square triangles and squares, but these blocks showcasing the parallelogram are stunning. This shape collection has turned out to be one of my favorites.
The parallelograms are worth the price of the collection, whether on sale or regular price, all on their own. The possibilities are, as you said, absolutely endless. And with the fabulous technique you taught in Clue 2 about adding HSTs to them, there is absolutely no need to worry about working with stretchy bias edges. Just loads of continuous stitching opportunities and fun and gazillions of design opportunities.
