I have delayed as long as possible. Inklingo prices are going up. In the meantime, you can grab some bargains. I appreciate your understanding and loyalty.
The good news is that the value of Inklingo will always be astounding compared to any other quilting tool.
Inklingo Shape Collections
Yesterday, I started updating the prices for shape collections with hexagons. Many will go from $25 to $30 US next weekend. You still have a few days.
From 2002 to 2025, I never raised prices and offered as much as possible for free. Sales volume has allowed me to keep prices artificially low. Unfortunately, escalating costs and unpredictable fluctuations in the economy have taken a toll. It is sad for everyone. Monkey is brokenhearted.
Inklingo Design Books
I have been giving away too much of my work for free.
Starting today, Design Book PDFs are no longer free when purchasing related shape collections. The website and the PDFs are being updated as quickly as possible.
As you know, Inklingo Design Book PDFs were always free when you purchased a related shape collection. I will keep them on sale for $10 US for as long as possible. Then they will be $20—still an amazing value compared to other quilt books and patterns.
Postage
Since 2002, I have mailed book orders—without a handling fee—from Niagara Falls, NY instead of Canada, to offer the lowest rates and delivery to the USA and worldwide.
However, it is not reasonable for Russ to drive orders across the border from Canada now for several reasons. Requirements are unpredictable, and costs have skyrocketed. Can you imagine Russ being fingerprinted just to go to the post office? It’s possible. The old $5 crossing fee is now $19.60 US, and other increases are similar.
I will do my best to find the lowest postage from Canada. I will also evaluate whether making Quilted Diamonds, The Inklingo Handbook, and others downloadable (like Winding Ways) is a better option. These books will show as “out of stock” until a better postage solution is found.
Good News
The good news is that, in the meantime, your local quilt shop can still order my books from a distributor, and I can still mail them to Canadian addresses if you email me first. Everything is in stock.
Inklingo needs to adapt. I’m doing the best I can for everyone.
Thank you for understanding and for being loyal Inklingo quilters.
Linda & Monkey (& Russ)
I am very sorry that a lot of things have become so hard for you, Russ and Monkey to provide all of the great customer service you so clearly value.
Frankly, I am shocked to realize that you never raised your prices. I know inflation in the Netherlands has been higher since 2002 than what you are now repairing.
So I looked up what it it was for Canada….Inflation was 65,99% between 2002 and now!! There has been some inflation correction I understand, making 25 dollars from 2002 the equivalent of 41,50 dollars now. So you raising prices from 25 to 30 dollars still leaves a big gap. You have been and continue to be very generous with your talents, your work and your time, to make quilting more accessible and to keep it as accessible as can be.
Hi Annika, You have done your homework! 65% inflation sounds dramatic, doesn’t it? The danger is that it creeps up slowly and suddenly hits a point where it is impossible to ignore. Thank you for sharing this! It also stuns me that I have been running this little Canadian business for almost a quarter century. How did that happen so fast?
Must be the fun you had with all the website updates 🙂 that made time fly
Inklingo is the best value for money ever. I will continue to purchase from you. Your ongoing customer support means you deserve a raise. pines and curley
Dear, Dear Pines & Curley, You know how to make me feel better about this. Thank you.
I am not surprised by the increase. It’s the way of the world. Most importantly you deserve the raise. I’m positive that you have been grossly under paid for years. I so appreciate you trying so hard to keep prices down but you should receive what you earn. Keep on doing what you obviously love to do.
Thanks so much
George
PS
I have most of my blocks sewn for the willyne Hammerstein dance the night away quilt
Oh George, You warm my heart. Thank you. I appreciate your support. I would love to see your “dance” too!
You have been more than fair all these years. Even at those very modestly raised prices, we will be getting huge value for money!! Given the circumstances it’s completely understandable that not only do prices have to go up but that Russ can no longer be driving across the border to mail books. Give Monkey a gentle hug and tell him we all understand!!
Thank you for understanding, Cathi.
